have you tried removing the file FeedForAll_rss2html_pro.php in case you have it installed in your directory?

This will of course stop php-code in the template from being parsed, but it might be a solution for your specific situation (unfortunately it is not for mine).

Hi there,

I have a problem that similarly has already been described in other threads - unfortunately the proposed solutions didn't work for me (php.ini, allow_url_fopen and allow_url_include are both On)

All FeedForAll PHP scripts are freshly downloaded = latest version.

PHP on the Server is version 5.4.4

rss2html.php generates neither any output nor errors.

When I comment-out line 473 in rss2html.php...:

//@include("FeedForAll_rss2html_pro.php");

or completely remove file FeedForAll_rss2html_pro.php

output is generated, but - of course - the php-code used in the template isn't parsed anymore, but shows up as plain text on the page.

When I do 'php FeedForAll_rss2html_pro.php' from console or call it from browser, no output is generated and no errors are shown (error_reporting(-1); or (E_ALL);)

I treid a local XML file and a remote one w. http:// - no difference

So my problem is, that FeedForAll_rss2html_pro.php stopped working after updating PHP (or rather after moving the old page/scipts to new server that runs w. PHP 5.4.4:)

Is this problem know? Have any solutions been found?

Thank you in advance for your feedback! :)

obviously PRO didn't like my humble PHP code.

Using the following works w. no errors:

<?
$data = "~~~ItemTitle~~~";
list($headline, $author) = explode(" - ", $data);
echo $headline;
echo $author;
?>

Still $hideErrors = 1; does not seem to work w. PRO :-)

P.S.: here the code I use in my template - could this cause the errors?

It shall split the Author from the actual Headline; the two are in ItemTitle and separated by "blank dash blank"-sequence:

~~~FeedMaxItems=3~~~
~~~BeginItemsRecord~~~
<div>
<div class="indent">
<div class="title">
<h2><a href="/news.php" >
<? $myString = '~~~ItemTitle~~~';
$findMe = ' - ';
$pos = strpos($myString, $findMe);
echo substr('~~~ItemTitle~~~', 0, $pos); ?>
</a></h2>
<div class="date">~~~ItemPubLongDate~~~</div>
<div class="author"> <strong>Author</strong>
<? $myString = '~~~ItemTitle~~~';
$findMe = ' - ';
$pos = strpos($myString, $findMe);
echo substr('~~~ItemTitle~~~', $pos); ?>
</div>
</div>
<div class="text-box">
<p>~~~ItemDescription~~~</p>
</div>
</div>
</div>
~~~EndItemsRecord~~~
Hiya,
I set the following Tag in rss2html.php:
// $hideErrors: This will prevent all error messages from being displayed.
// CAUTION enabling this will cause rss2html.php to fail silently with
// no indication to why there was no output
$hideErrors = 1;
Still I see:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /var/www/FeedForAll_rss2html_pro(155) : eval()'d code on line 122 (sometimes it is also line 36 or 76...).
The error is apparently caused by strange content in the RSS feed source - I can stop the error from occurring, by simply using a different feed, but that is of course no solution :)
As long as the feed is faulty I simply want to show the cached content until the feed becomes clean again. No problem w. the normal, free rss2html, but apparently the Pro versions shows the errors?
What am I doing wrong? (How) can this be fixed/circumvented?
Cheers!
yes, as I said, I reckon mod_rewrite could do the job, but I have no clue on HOW exactly this can be acheived. :)
How do I connect the "fancy" URL to the ITEMHASH ID like d84962e21cbb4bdf0f6fd2b29974216d, in order to show the right article?
Cheers,
Sunny
yes, also I would love to see this feature.
I have another RSS2HTML software, which does that very nicely (but it has others flaws so I would rather like to use feedforall).
Should be possible somehow w. mod_rewrite
Cheers,
Sunny
