The main feed page is working perfectly.

The assigned
in the sql2rss_ItemTemplate.xml file is pointing to a dynamic page which is pulling information from the same DB table.

What needs to be changed to direct viewers to the full article?

PostForum: SQL2RSS (MySQL to RSS Feed Creator) Posted: Fri Oct 31, 2008 7:50 pm Subject: finishing the feed
I've been using sql2rss for the past six months. While it successfully pulls the headline, date and text from the database + updates everytime a new record is added, there's one problem I haven't had the time to try and resolve until now.

The problem is that all the links from the feed, both those of the title as well as those of the "Read more..." all point to the top of the main press page, not to specific stories.

How do I config the link attribute so each url is associated with the record ID?

feed://www.gp.org/press/feed/sql2rss.php

The code in sql2rss_ItemTemplate.xml is as follows. Any type of query I tried adding only resulted in the app blowing up.

~~~XXXXX~~~
~~~XXXXX~~~

Ideas anyone???

After reinstalling from scratch, I finally have the feed working correctly. It is now pulling the same information from our db as the rest of our press pages.

One question remains.

The link on the ItemTemplate.xml points to our generic news page. How do I point the link to each specific item? Where would I add the record ID parameter?

Our news page is located here: http://www.gp.org/press.php

Here is the code for the ItemTemplate.xml

~~~PR_Headline~~~
~~~PR_Teaser~~~

[/code]

What should it be?

david

You have hard coded that into your item template

Yesterday's installation problem has been resolved. One more issue still to go.

The url link from the feed is incorrect, http://www.gp.org/~~~http://localhost/GP/press/sql2rss/sql2rss.php~~~

The page in question can be found here: feed://www.gp.org/press/sql2rss/sql2rss.php

Safari is displaying an incorrect link, and Firefox has no links.

thanks,

Is your query statement correct? If you are sure, you can add $debugLevel=3' to the top of your config file and debug information will be added to the webpage. You will probably need to use http:// instead of feed://

Thanks Jim, Nothing like " . . . Order by Order . . ." by to cause sql confusion

PostForum: SQL2RSS (MySQL to RSS Feed Creator) Posted: Sat Dec 15, 2007 4:30 pm Subject: new installation results in "NO ARTICLES"
Purchased and installed the software this afternoon. After finishing the config, and browsing to feed://127.0.0.1/GP/press/sql2rss/sql2rss.php, the feed page appears with the blue banner and the right hand sidebar. However no articles are being returned, despite the fact that there is currently one article stored in the db.

I figure that something must be wrong with the sql2rss_ItemTemplate.xml file. The current contents of it are:

~~~PR_Headling~~~
~~~PR_Teaser~~~

PR_Heading and PR_Teaser are the names of the fields in the DB that should be displaying.

Any ideas?

thanks,
david
