PostForum: Announcements   Posted: Thu Dec 11, 2008 3:32 pm   Subject: Unique RSS Feeds
As the masses have adopted RSS as a more mainstream communication medium, Web 2.0 businesses and publishers have adopted unique and unusual tools to manipulate RSS content. Here are just some of the various RSS tools that are currently available...

RSS To PDF

Feedbooks, a free RSS aggregator, takes in RSS feeds and converts them into compiled PDFs. The PDFs even include a table of contents. Feedbooks is free to use, and registering will provide access to more options. A similar alternative is RSS2PDF, which is also a free online service that lets you turn an RSS or OPML newsfeed into a PDF.

RSS To Email

RSSFwd is a free web-based service that allows visitors to subscribe to RSS content via their email address. The service polls the subscribed RSS feeds, converts them into HTML-formatted email messages, and then delivers them directly to the subscriber's email inbox.

Email To RSS

MailBucket is a public email-to-RSS gateway. Simply forward your email to your-user-name@mailbucket.org and subscribe to the news feed at mailbucket.org/your-user-name.xml. The generated RSS feeds are public and not permanent, so keep that in mind.

Database To RSS

The SQL2RSS.PHP script allows you to easily create RSS feeds from an SQL database. The script currently supports the conversion of MySQL databases to RSS feeds. When using the SQL2RSS script, the publisher has complete control over the content in the resulting RSS feed. Administrators and publishers control the database query, which allows them the flexibility to determine what data is inserted into the RSS feeds from the database. The SQL2RSS s ...

Effective Podcasts
Many people assume that podcasting is all about audio and fail to acknowledge the writing behind the show. Skilled communicators understand the type of planning required in order to pull off a clean final product. The most memorable and effective podcasts are always well planned. Some of the best podcast shows use a script and follow a structured format. The preparation that occurs behind the scenes is similar to what would take place for a radio show.

Podcast Pre Show Preparation Tips
Preshow development, while monotonous and time consuming, will determine the quality of the finished production.

Prepare for your podcast by following these simple steps:

Interviews
Prepare interview questions in advance of the show. In addition, develop possible follow-up questions and responses.

Segments
Anticipate how much time each segment should last. Make a schedule, and keep in mind that you can edit audio segments down if necessary.

Prepare Guests
Inform your guests about what they can expect. Familiarize them with the show's format and give them an idea of the anticipated length of the segment and the general theme of your questions.

Podcast Post Show Production Tips

Complete your podcast with post show production tips by following these simple steps:

Transcripts
Do not underestimate the importance of a transcript when it comes to a podcasting. Transcripts boost search ranking and allow you to re-purpose your show's contents.

Edit
Just as in the movies, your podcast should be melded together with smooth transitions between thoughtfully edited segments. The editing matters! Use software to polish your production.

If a show is recorded in one large segment, it should be edited down. Extraneous audio should be removed. Transition effects, background music, and intro or extro can be added.

Share
Provide your guests with a link to the show. If they are active on the web there is a good ch ...

All orders and keys have been emailed. There is no back log in queue. It sounds like you have a problem with the email being filtered. Please send an alternate email address to orders (at) feedforall.com with your order details and a key will be resent. Please bear in mind the key will come from "orders (at) feedforall.com" not recordforall.com, if you have control over white listing addresses please be sure to include that address.

If that does not work please contact our sales department and they can fax you the registration information.

Hi,

I have purchased the CD for FFA version 2
I have the CD itself, my serial number, order number and registration key
I don't remember my log in name or password
I want to download the free templates and also mesh and other scripts

My general goal is to learn how to use your scripts in sql database and send feeds from database converted to html as full content on my website.

What do I need to do?

First off simply send your serial number to orders (at) feedforall.com and we will send you a login for the scripts. Please be aware however the RSS2HTML templates are not free, and they are not included in the purchase of FeedForAll only the RSS Scripts are available free of charge to registered FeedForAll users. You can purchase access to the RSS2HTML templates for $ 29.95.

I've just been putting the Auto Discovery tag on the page that has a feed and an RSS graphic linking the feed to that particular page only.

Should we put the Auto Discovery tags for inner pages on the Home Page too? Even though there's about 5-6 of them? Or just leave them only on the page they relate to?

If you don't have feeds that relate to the other pages on your site I would include auto-discovery for your websites main RSS feed (the one with the broadast scope).
