There are no provisions in the RSS 2.0 Specifications for password protected RSS feeds.

You may be able to use a security option on the web server to password protect the entire RSS feeds.

Actually, any security would need to be done on the web server itself. There isn't a way to do it within the RSS 2.0 specification. So, you'll need to contact your web server's administrators to ask them.

Hi ,
I am not planning to create RSS feeds for a web site. I am planning to create RSS feeds for project related purposes which everyone can add in their outlook.

I want different users to get different feeds based on the type of the user.
I want some kind of security also to be implemented.

After validating credentials only , RSS feeds has to be displayed.

Please help me with this .

I'm not sure how many different ways I can say this. There IS NO SECURITY SPECIFICATION IN RSS 2.0. Anys ecurity at all would have to come from the environment you're using the feeds in. Whether it's a web server or a file server or whatever the case may be, something external to the rss feeds has to require authentication because THERE IS NO SECURITY SPECIFICATION IN RSS 2.0
