 trying to put rss on site like in Example 3 in stiky notes View next topic

hi
i didn't talked to my web host person yet, but i am planing tomorrow
but i managed to add the news by putting the rss
http://tdawool.esy.es/rss2html.php?XMLFILE=www.investing.com/rss/news_1.rss&TEMPLATE=temp.html
to an iframe
http://tdawool.esy.es/1.html i think it ok like that don't you

a little problem is that the news dosen't updated alone look at the date it's yesterday's date how do i fix that ?
if you have any other ways i would love to hear it

Use the wget command you used earler to download a copy of the rss feed to your webserver. Take a look at that file and see what the dates look like in it.

ok i see i have to update it manually every day.... i think unless
here it comes again
can i change a line rsstohtml.php or in FeedForAll_XMLParser.inc to make it update evrey day automaticly.
if not i think i can update every day manually by the consol.

Did the file you got with the wget have the new dates?

Is there a file named FeedForAll_Scripts_CachingExtension.php in the same folder as your rss2html.php file?

ok
at first time when i did wget it didnt change i mean the dates in it
but then i deleted the file news.rss and again wget it and now i have a new file with updated dates

Is there a file named FeedForAll_Scripts_CachingExtension.php in the same folder as your rss2html.php file?
no i dont have the file named FeedForAll_Scripts_CachingExtension.php
i just have the file that came with the zip FeedForAll.php

My best guess is that investing.com is doing some sort of caching on their end, so that multiple request from the same source get the same file for a period of time.

If you test by periodically doing wget to download the feed, you may find that it only updates after a certain period of time. This would cause rss2html to only get a new file every so often.

This is just a guess, you will have to experiment/test to see if that is the case.
