My RSS2HTML installation appears to be working -- it looks fine online -- but when validated, it shows that the PHP Include is bringing in code that's surrounded by the <HTML>,<HEAD>, <BODY> and other code, which shouldn't be in the middle of my HTML page. I was expecting it to only bring in the table with the HTML generated from my feed.

Did I miss a step somewhere? The page in question is http://www.comichron.com

On first look, everything appears to be configured properly, the output on your site looks as it should.

Just so we can verify a few things, what are the links to your feed, the script and the template being referenced by the script?

There are actually two includes and RSS2HTML feeds on that page.

For both, the template being referred to is
http://www.comichron.com/rss2-template.html
...which should be pretty much unchanged from yours.

For the top include, the feed is
http://blog.comichron.com/feeds/posts/default/-/Featured?alt=rss

And the script is
http://www.comichron.com/rss2htmltop.php

For the bottom include, the feed is
http://blog.comichron.com/feeds/posts/default/-/Flashbacks?alt=rss

And the script is
http://www.comichron.com/rss2html.php

Thanks for looking at this!

Working on a scratchpad site, it looks like I can eliminate the <HEAD><BODY> and other material from being imported into my site by eliminating them from the RSS2HTML template file.

The problem then is that the page still comes up invalid on the W3 validator because it doesn't want to see <p> and <br> codes inside a table, which are part of the template. I'm guessing that's unavoidable, then, because RSS2HTML is loading the external feed into a table and it's got to be formatted somehow. Any way to resolve this?

Okay, it looks like that did the trick -- eliminating everything, including the TABLE, from the sample template removed all the stuff that the Validator didn't like from the RSS2HTML side. (Now it's just the feed it doesn't like.) I guess that solves it.

Ah, looks like you're a bit faster than we could respond. You have the right of it, you can modify the template to remove any unnecessary code from it. That way when the script uses the template to process the output, it doesn't have any of those extemporaneous values.

Thanks for responding. I had figured it was probably something simple!
