The first beta release for FeedForAll version 2.0, is now available.

This beta release consists of some major work behind the scenes, making FeedForAll Unicode, UTF-8, and RSS Namespace compatible. What this means in non-geek speak, is that FeedForAll 2.0 can be used to maintain RSS feeds in any language. It also now supports all Rss 2.0 namesspace extensions, like iTunes.

At least one more beta release will be made available before the version 2.0 final release. It will contain many of the other features we plan to add into the 2.0 release.

As always, we greatly appreciate any and all feedback from our beta testers, so don't be shy.

Thanks for picking up on that so quickly. An update has just been uploaded that fixes the problem (2.0.0.1). One minor font problem and user defined namespace problem were also fixed.

Thanks again.

Thanks for all your great feedback!

I will be sure all your points are brought up with the developers. I think you have a real important point about the images. I can see problems when using the HTML editor with a slow link or not connection at all.

Thanks again.

We have uploaded a minor update to the beta release. The current version is now 2.0.0.3. The update fixes the problem where cloned items didn't get copies of the namespace info from the original item.

The beta release has been out for 11 months. Is it ever going to come out of beta?

I've downloaded and run the new version. When I try to subscribe to my podcast I am returned the following error by iTunes:

Quote:
There are no playable episodes for "Podcast Central". The URL might point to text-only episodes; or contain file types that iTunes cannot play.

Here is an example of one of my URLs:
Quote:
http://www.barton-juniorhigh2.com/pages/index.php?ind=downloads&op=download_file&ide=8&file=8-28-06 and 8-29-06.mp3

Is there a problem with my URL?

Thanks,
Charley

If you are using FeedForAll to create podcasts for iTunes, I would strogly recommend you give our beta release a try. It has MUCH better iTunes support than the release version you are using.

I thought I was using the new beta version. I downloaded the new beta version and overwrote my old one. It had all the features to use for creating a Podcast for iTunes that FeedForAll Mac has.

When I look at the feed you provided here:

http://www.barton-juniorhigh2.com/podcastcentral.xml

I can see by the <generator> field that it was created with FFA version 1. Have you not updated the file since using the new beta release?
