Hi Everybody,

I wonder if anybody knew the answer to this query? I'm having the same problem at the moment.

I've a number of feeds coming from bulletin boards and being combined with rssmesh, and then displayed on a separate site. I want to display the name of the item poster (dc:creator) and have tried the ~~~ItemAuthor~~~ but it comes up blank. Is the ItemAuthor configured to be an email address, and dc:creator isn't an email?

Anybody know of a way to include the poster's name? It's the last step in what i would like to produce, so i'm frustrated!!!! any help or suggestion very welcome indeed!

thanks.

Hi again all, some progress perhaps, but no result yet :-(

I'm using the 'paid for' scripts, and the ~~~ItemDCCreator~~~ rather than ItemAuthor variable, I think it should 'just work', but alas it doesn't. I've got the FeedForAll_parse_DublinCore.inc.php file (and all the others) in the same file on my webserver.

I use rssmesh to combine 2 feeds (output from a BB I am running), and that works fine.

My html template seems to be ok:

<table width="750" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="1" bgcolor="#FFFFFF">
~~~BeginItemsRecord~~~
<tr>
<td valign="top" width="50%">
<table border="1" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%" id="table11">
<tr>
<td bgcolor="#ECFFEA" valign="center" width="100%" height="25">
<p align="left">
<font size="2" color="#076600">
~~~ItemTitle~~~
posted by ~~~ItemDCCreator~~~ on ~~~ItemPubShortDate~~~ at ~~~ItemPubShortTime~~~</font></td>
</tr>
<table border="1" cellpadding="0" width="100%" id="table12">
<tr>
<td valign="center" width="130%">
<p align="center">
<font size="1" color="#076600">~~~ItemDescription~~~<a target="_blank" href="~~~ItemLink~~~">....read more</a></font></p>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</td>
</tr>
~~~EndItemsRecord~~~
<tr>
<td><p>&nbsp;</p></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="blank" height="20"></td>
</tr>
</table>
but when i run my php page everything substitutes in ok from the merged field except the DCCreator field.
:-( help please!!
In reading the code in the FeedForAll parser, it looks like the script is supposed to look for the <author> tag in the item and, absent that, use the <dc:creator> tag to populate ~~~ItemAuthor~~~
(see the notes in the code as follows:
// Revision 2.2 2005/08/16 19:53:15 housley
// Add the ~~~ItemAuthor~~~ subsitution that uses first <author> and then
// <dc:creator> for its contents
)
But it doesn't seem to be working. The parser either isn't grabbing or isn't subbing the correct information into the template tag.
Anyone have a solution?
