Can I Charge People To View My Feed?
|
I am providing really great content and I want to be paid for the content, can I charge people to view my feed?
While it is possible for RSS feeds to be password protected and subscription based, it is more common for publishers to use the RSS feeds as teaser copy. If the reader enjoys the teaser copy in the feed, they subscribe (pay) to receive or see the full content, this is often done by clicking through to a website. New York Times started this model, forcing users to login to see the full contents of the articles.
It is likely that subscription feeds will become more popular, especially in with educational or quality news feeds.
