Step-by-Step Instructions on Importing (Copying) Items to a Feed
Suppose you have two feeds that are similar except for an audio file or an image file is in a different format (for example) you can create the first feed and use the import feature to create the second feed allowing you to only have to make minor changed to the second feed. Importing an Item is easy with FeedForAll Mac. Our unique import capabilities allow the user to select items of a feed they wish to be imported or copied. Follow this step-by-step tutorial with clear and precise guidelines.
- Select one of the two feeds. In this example, Tutiorial_Clone_AAC_files.xml.
- Click on the Items tab.
- Click New item button.
- Fill in the Title, Description, and Link fields, as well as any additional information under the Optional, Extensions and Advanced tabs.
- Click on the Feeds tab.
- Click on the Save button.
- Select the feed you wish to import (copy) the new item into. In this example the file would be Tutorial_Clone_MP3_files.xml.
- From the menu bar select Import Items from the Item menu.
- In the Import Items window, click on the Open button and open the Tutorial_Clone_AAC_files.xml file.
- Click on the check box to select the Item you with to add (copy) to the feed.
- Click Import.
- Click Close.
- Click on the Items tab.
- Make modifications to the itme for this feed. For example changing an enclosure from an enhanced MP3 file to a simple MP3 file.
- Click Save.
