Cool Tips
Here are some great tips and tricks to help you work faster and smarter in FeedForAll Mac.
Preferences
- Wishing you had more HTML control when hitting the return key? Allow FeedForAll Mac to insert the line break characters <br> for you. This option can be found under the Miscellaneous tab on the Preferences screen.
- You don't have to type the same thing every time you create a new item or feed. Use preferences to set default values.
Feeds
- To quickly open a feed on you computer by dragging the file onto the feed list.
- Quickly open a feed from your web browser by dragging the URL onto the feed list.
- Copy from Description or Title on the Feed Level into iTunes® Subtitle and Summary data entry fields using Control-Click.
- Wish to do more than paste? You can paste to HTML. Control-Click in the Feed or Item Description dialog box you wish to paste to and select Paste to HTML from the drop down list. Or use the keyboard shortuct Command-Shift-V.
- Not sure how to create a new feed or need help creating a podcast? Use the Feed Wizard, simply click Shift-Command-W.
- If you have several feeds with the same name, but are kept in different folders, it may be easier to tell them apart in the Feeds list box if you have FeedForAll Mac display the full path along with the filename there. This option can be found under the Display tab on the Preferences screen.
Items
- To quickly import items from a feed on you computer by dragging the file onto the items list.
- Quickly import items from a feed from your web browser by dragging the URL onto the items list.
- Wish to do more than paste? You can paste to HTML. Control-Click in the dialog box you wish to paste to and select Paste to HTML from the drop down list.
- Want to add an item to an already existing feed? Allow the Item Wizard to help you, simply click Control-Shift-W.
- Rearrange the items in your list by simply dragging them up or down.
- Want to rearrange your items in alpabetical order by title? Use Sort in the Item menu to sort the items in a feed by almost any field.
Images
- To quickly open an image in the image editor, drag the image into the left-hand pane.
- To quickly crop an image, click and drag the selction box over image.
Pop-up Dialog Boxes
- Pressing ESC has the same function as clicking the Cancel button.
- Pressing Return has the same function as clicking the Ok or Accept button. This is only true it is the button on the far right and it is blue.
- Using the keystroke Command-D has the same function as clicking the Do Not Save button.
Checking Spelling
- Hold down the Control key as you click a misspelled word in your document. Alternate spellings appear, as well as easy access to other spelling commands.
