9 November 2014
CAGLIARI 1 (Farias 16)
GENOA 1 (Rossettini 53 og)
The normally excellent Perrin rushed off his line to block Farias' run onto a longball but Farias flicked the ball post him and ran it into an empty net. Rossettini turned a centre into his own net. Conti dived to win a penalty and earn Sturaro a red but Perrin made amends for his earlier mistake by saving Avelar's penalty and Longo missed an open goal on the rebound by shanking wide.

JUVENTUS 7 (Llorente 24, Lichtsteiner 30, Llorente 37, Tevez 50, Tevez 58, Morata 76, Morata 88)
Llorente tapped in a rebound after Mirante spilled from Pogba. Lichtsteiner thumped in the second from the edge of the box before making the third for Llorente. Tevez scored a fantastic goal. He shrugged off Costa as he turned onto a loose ball 60 yards from goal, he cut inside Lucarelli, nutmegged Felipe then ran around him onto his own pass before side footing inside the right post. Magnificent. Tevez smashed in a rebound before Morata came off the bench to also bag a brace, his second a volley from Lichtsteiner's cross.

Toni slammed in a volley at the far post after that Greek lad headed back a cross. Icardi also volleyed in from close range to equalise. Palacio beat Verona's offside trap and centred for Icardi's second. Medel was sent off for preventing a shot whacking him in the face but Handanovic saved the penalty. Saviola, yes THAT Saviola, played in Lopez with a great reverse pass and he blasted inside the right post to equalise.
Mazzarri was fired sometime over the past week and Mancini has been appointed as his replacement. A safe option but he's obviously not going to match the success he had first time round.

MANCHESTER CITY 1 (Toure 8 fk)
CSKA MOSCOW 2 (Doumbia 2, Doumbia 34)
Man City's fragile European confidence was rocked further when after just two minutes Doumbia towered above their defence to emphatically head Natcho's free kick past Heart. Toure levelled with a free kick. The awful Clichy intercepted a pass but carelessly squared the ball across his defence and Natcho played in Doumbia for the winner. Fernandinho was sent off for two yellow cards and Toure followed 10 minutes later for shoving Eremenko in the face and then having the nerve to look bemused when he was shown red.
Man City's title success went to his head and he's been acting like an arrogant, lazy prick since. The birthday cake incident was pathetic and not befitting the actions of a grown man. City should ditch him.

Adriano volleyed in a cross and finished off a one-touch passing move for his hat-trick.

UCL 2014-2015 Group Stage Day Seven
4 November 2014
JUVENTUS 3 (Pirlo 21 fk, Roberto 65 og, Pogba 66)
OLYMPIAKOS 2 (Botia 24, Dinga 61)
Pirlo scored with a nonchalant free kick on his 100th UCL appearance. Botia headed in the equaliser from a corner. Set pieces continue to be Juve's achilles heel, largely due to Buffon being absolutely hopeless at commanding his area. As was the case when he and the Juve defence ball watched as a free kick was passed back across goal for Dinga's header. Roberto equalised when Llorente's header rebounded off the inside of a crossbar and went in off him. A minute later Pogba's attempted back heel to absolutely no one failed so he turned and blasted the ball past Roberto. Vidal's last minute penalty was brilliantly saved by Roberto, who has been the best GK in the competition this season.
Attendance : 39,091

BASEL 4 (Embolo 34, Gonzalez 41, Gashi 59, Suchy 65)
17 year old Embolo, just shy at 6ft 1" (which makes him only marginally shorter than my giant 16 year old son) bounced a cross off his chest before shooting Basel into the lead and their second was a carbon copy. Gashi, who will of course be referred to as Gash, tapped in Embolo's centre and Suchy (Suchy and Gashy on the same team) helped himself to a fourth after the Bulgarians failed miserably to defend a corner.
If Basel beat Liverpool at Anfield, which is a possibility, they're through to the next round.
Attendance : 35,272
Assists : Frei, Frei, Embolo, n/a
REAL MADRID 1 (Benzema 27)

ANDERLECHT 3 (Vanden Borre 61, Vanden Borre 73 Pen, Mitrovic 90)
Wellbeck dived to win the penalty. Sanchez fired in a rebound after blasting a free kick into a wall. Kljestan moronically refused to play the ball out of defence and tried to shield it and turn away from the opposition, he was tackled twice and Oxy 10 ran through to score. Vanden Borre began the comeback with a strong run from midfield before spreading the play wide and eventually tapped in a centre. Nacho "he's Spanish so must be good" Monreal sacked Mitrovic to concede Anderlecht's penalty. Mitrovic completed the comeback when he threw himself at Najar's tremendous cross to equalise.
Attendance : 59,872
Assists : Welbeck (won pen), n/a, n/a, Kawaya, Mitrovic (won pen), Najar
DORTMUND 4 (Reus 39, Papastathopoulos 56, Immobile 74, Kaya 85 og)
GALATASARAY 1 (Balta 70)
An exquisite through pass helped Reus break the deadlock. Insert name here-poulos scrambled in Dortmund's second from a corner. Balta headed in a corner but Immobile, on as a sub, hit back immediately as Dortmund broke from a corner, he bravely threw himself at the ball as Muslera dived at his feet. That's 7 goals in 16 appearances already for Immobile, only 10 of which he started. He also forced the own goal.

LAZIO 4 (Mauri 7, Klose 25, Klose 26, Ederson 93)
CAGLIARI 2 (Braafheid 48, Joao Pedro 84)
Mauri reacted to a series of deflections to give Lazio an early lead. Klose scored two goals in a minute. The first from close range after a slow motion counter attack and the second after Cagliari cheaply lost possession.
Disgraceful defending, in particular from Ciani, ended with a shot going in off Braafheid. Pedro set up a tense finish, despite Cagliari being reduced to ten men, and Ciani was again at fault for making a piss poor attempt to challenge Benedetti for a cross but Ederson, on as a late sub, tapped in Candreva's centre. Onazi was involved in the move and it's good to see him back after Matuidi's criminal foul left him with a broken leg.
Attendance : 30,151
Red Card : Ibarbo 73 (Cagliari)
Assists : Klose, Lulic, Lulic, n/a, Benedetti, Candreva

He crushed a defender with a brilliant dummy but Neto should have saved his near post effort. Savic headed Fiorentina back into the match on half time. Eder came off the bench to score the game killing goal. Eder ran 70 yards, dribbled in and around Rodriguez and Pizarro before slotting past Neto.

Iago tapped in a rebound to give Genoa the lead but Udinese fought back to go in level at half time. Di Natale played in Widmer on the overlap and he fired first time into the left corner. Matri crashed a centre in off a post and Kucka scored the pick of the goal in a game of great goals with a blockbuster of a right foot shot that violently smashed in off the underside of the crossbar.

PALERMO 2 (Zapata 23 og, Dybala 26)

Attendance : 28,272
Assists : n/a, Barreto
1 November 2014
NAPOLI 2 (Higuain 3, Callejon 85)
Garcia seems determined to hand the title to Juventus as he was deservedly punished for fielding a second string side ahead of the Bayern thrashing. Higuain pounced on a deflected cross to score with a spectacular scissor kick. Higuain curled a ball around a square defence for Callejon to continue his red hot streak in front of goal, last week's miss from a yard out notwithstanding.

Cuadrado danced at the feet for Udinese defenders before rolling a centre to Valero who beat Karnezis with an impudent shot that left him rooted.
Attendance : 27,016

GENOA 1 (Antonini 94)
The news wasn't necessary that Juve suffered their first defeat, on Buffon's 500th appearance or the encouraging debut by Genoa's 17 year old midfielder Mandragora, it was feel good story behind Genoa's victory. Antonini, dubbed the angel of the mud, scored the late winning goal. Taider whipped in a cross for the right as Missiroli ghosted past two defenders before volleying his side level. Berardi shanked a penalty but Floccari spared his blushes with a fantastic goal. He ran through a challenge to intercept a defender then hit an explosive shot, with both his feet leaving the ground as he sent a shot curling towards the left corner.
