I was hoping that this software would get occasional updates, can you tell us if you are working on a new version?

Aaron, did you notice they worked on new packaging...

I have never ordered this in a box but anyway I guess there is a refresh of images used for the products.

The development lifecycle is not very fast I think version 2 took several years to mature. I have not heard anything about any new versions, and been monitoring this since the last release.

I agree a PHP client would be great. Also have been thinking about using email web clients to clients generate my RSS. Simply email to an address, Subject become tittle, Body becomes description, Author is author date is publishing date. But then also write a script to pick up the linking URL as obviously you do not want to point this back to the email.

Anyway I think other open source projects could be leveraged, and I fully agree that many would much appreciate an online RSS writer like this. Still hopping for an upgrade on the fat client as well. But have little hope. I think this project is dead.

It has been a while and I was curious if FeedForAll is still a project that is being developed for future releases.

Could you inform us when or if we can expect a new version in the future?

PostForum: Announcements   Posted: Mon Oct 06, 2008 3:14 am   Subject: Re: duplicate content
I use Delicious feeds to add content from other sites to my sites. In short I try to make my users aware of what else is written on on other sites about particular topics, products or companies.

I do this by using Delicious notes functionality (highlighting text, then using the TAG button from delicious which then creates the bookmark with the notes -text I highlighted from the source page-) this then gets turned into RSS that I then use on some sites.

Are you telling me that I could get penalized for using (in effect promoting) the other site? If this is so wouldn't the Search engines themselves be the biggest violators of duplicate content as they have "content from other sites with their referring links? (especially sites like google news)

In short I would love to hear some views on this from other experts that use RSS content on their sites.

--PS what about news syndication organizations like AP (Associated Press) the make news articles verbatim available for other news sites / organizations

Great that you have given these instructions on how to manually edit the source. It is indeed not difficult to edit (or even write RSS).

But the reason that I will possibly buy this product is that it could make it easier. Copying items from feed to feed is something that likely many would like.

In short I hope this functionality will be added in a next release. ;-)
Should I add it to the wish list or should I assume that becase of the first reply this is not needed.

Here is something that I have done to help the copying process for my needs
Perhaps this will help some. I have several template items that I have added to my "start up feed". Then I make the necessary edits and save it as the new feed.

Obviously once the feed is live I can not use one of the template items that I did not use when I initially publish it. For that I would need to be able to merge the template feed into the live feed...

Now this is perhaps a feature that I should put in the wish list. (after I have searched the forum to see if somebody else perhaps requested this ;-)
