PostForum: RSSmesh (Automatic Feed Aggregator)   Posted: Thu Nov 18, 2010 4:32 pm   Subject: problem fix
All that time, the only thing I did to fix this...

Is to reinsert the feedforall website in the XML template. I had removed all the data in the template and put in just a few things like description & name. Without the feedforall.com website in there... everything crapped out.

I dont care to have a website address posted in file or in a script, but let people know! I waste about 2 weeks getting this working & nobody seemed to know about it.

I read some more on the forums and found out about..

$debugLevel = 1; which gave me...

DIAG: FeedForAll_scripts_readFile(rssMesh_Template.xml, 0, 0, -1)
DIAG: FeedForAll_scripts_contentOfCache(rssMesh_Template.xml, 0, -1, 0)
DIAG: FeedForAll_scripts_contentOfCache(): !useCaching
DIAG: FeedForAll_scripts_readFile(): return SUCCESSFUL
DIAG: FeedForAll_scripts_readFile(http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rss.xml, 0, 1, 3600)
DIAG: FeedForAll_scripts_contentOfCache(http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rss.xml, 1, 3600, 0)
DIAG: FeedForAll_scripts_contentOfCache(): no cache folder
DIAG: FeedForAll_scripts_readFile(): fopen(): failed
DIAG: FeedForAll_scripts_readFile(): return SUCCESSFUL
DIAG: FeedForAll_scripts_readFile(http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rss.xml, 0, 1, 3600)
DIAG: FeedForAll_scripts_contentOfCache(http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rss.xml, 1, 3600, 0)
DIAG: FeedForAll_scripts_contentOfCache(): no cache folder
DIAG: FeedForAll_scripts_readFile(): fopen(): failed
DIAG: FeedForAll_scripts_readFile(): return SUCCESSFUL

Could it be those fopen() command failures causing the problems?

PostForum: RSS2HTML (RSS to HTML Converter)   Posted: Wed Nov 10, 2010 5:49 pm   Subject: $errorCode = 4 (HELP)
I've been trying to get rssMesh to work with rss2html for over 2 weeks now and I no comments during that time!

I dont even care right now which feeds. I just followed the instructions to the letter with two random sports feeds and I cannot view it. This is what appears. Im not sure if it's rss2html that cannot read rssmesh, or if I have the rssmesh messed up? Is this error caused solely by rss2html or is it because the rssMesh seems like a big blob of data when you view it?

$errorCode = 4
xml_error_string() = not well-formed (invalid token)
xml_get_current_line_number() = 120
xml_get_current_column_number() = 0
xml_get_current_byte_index() = 10369

I just posted a previous message about trying to combined 4 feeds using rssMesh then using rss2html. Neither one is working... But Im not sure where to focus to get it to work.

This seems to work but the data looks funky...

http://www.profantasysports.org/rssindex/rssindex_config.php

As soon as I try putting it in the config file, nothing shows up. So this shows up as blank.
http://www.profantasysports.org/rssindex/rssMesh.php?CONFIGFILE=rssindex_config.php

So needless to say, this is also blank.
http://www.profantasysports.org/rssindex/rssindex.xml

So my rssMesh isnt working, hence why rss2html isnt doing anything. There's gotta be someone out there with a suggestion?

I got rss2html to work on all of my baseball team pages just fine. Almost too easy. www.profantasysports.org So if you go and click on MLB, then any team page, you get news for each team.

Now I have some main pages where I want to mix feeds together and started with the main page using rssMesh. I put the rssMesh in it's own folder www.profantasysports.org/rssindex and ran everything thru there. Im only using 4 feeds and they seem to work even tho the data looks all in schambles. Once I put it rss2html I get this error...

$errorCode = 4
xml_error_string() = not well-formed (invalid token)
xml_get_current_line_number() = 5
xml_get_current_column_number() = 45
xml_get_current_byte_index() = 263

Here are the file locations.
www.profantasysports.org/rssindex/rssindex.xml (template)
www.profantasysports.org/ (rss2html) is located
www.profantasysports.org/rssindex/rssindex_config.php (config for rssMesh)
