PostForum: Feature Requests (FFA Win) Posted: Wed Feb 27, 2008 4:38 pm Subject: CDATA Field in Description
Hi -

I use Pheedo to monetize my feed but am having trouble controlling where they insert the ads. So I'd like to try and insert my own Google ads. Pheedo uses the CDATA field to insert their code:

Can you add a field to allow publishers to add CDATA to the description field?

Thanks!

Hi -

I'd like to see expanded markup options in the item description field. For example font size, alignment, etc.

I tried to manually insert [small]. . .[/small] tags to reduce the font size and it worked. However, FFA somehow eventually strips these tags out.

Thanks,

My Feed For All works great for my internet television application, www.RSSLiveTV.com . It is designed to be read directly from the browser, ie. IE7 or Firefox 2. I'd like to override the default stylesheets in these browsers to clean-up the presentation. Is this possible? In particular, I'd like to get rid of the "Subscribe to this feed" announcement at the top, sort by date/alphabetical, etc.

Thanks!

OK, I figured out a fix!

I just had to use a http:// address in the XML file and then I do a meta http-equiv="Refresh" redirect to the mms:// address

Apparently RSS 2.0 won't accept anything other than an http: in the link field.

I tried that but there is no hyperlink from the item title in the feed. I can only get the hyperlink to work with http:// prefix.

Is there a workaround for this?

Thanks for your help.

Hi -

I need an expert for this one. I'm building an RSS feed for quickly and easily tuning into live internet television channels (www.RSSLiveTV.com).

Running into a small problem. A lot of live streams are in the mms: (Microsoft Media Server) format. Unfortunately you can't link to this in the RSS 2.0 "Link" field. However on some mms: addresses I have found that I can simply change the mms: to http: and the link will work. But on some links it won't.

mms://69.24.128.171/ACN300 Fashion TV - won't work with http:

mms://www.africahit.com/Africahit Africa Hit - will work with http:

So my question is - is there some way that I can link to an mms: type stream to get this to work?

Thank you
