Hi - I am a webmaster in search of a replacement RSS feed creation tool (because the one I've been using within Dreamweaver CS4 is now end-of-life, and unsupported moving forward). I have not yet purchased nor downloaded the trial version of FFA - was hoping to first have these two critical questions answered:

1) Will FeedForAll work in Windows 8? [I am about to buy a new development PC, and would like to go to Windows 8.]

2) Can I compose custom RSS feeds that contain BOTH urls and images ... where the person reading the feed can click on EITHER the link OR the image to take him/her to the article on my site?

What I'm really looking for is a tool to compose a feed that looks like my existing feed:

feed://www.midlifebachelor.com/rss/midlifebachelor.rss

Will FFA allow me to create something identical (or nearly identical) to this?

Any input would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

FeedForAll will do what you have described.

FeedForAll does run under Windows8, but there are a couple of steps you need to take during installation to make that happen:

1. After downloading the ffasetup.exe file, right click on it and choose 'properties' from the menu.
2. Choose the 'compatibility' tab.
3. Put a check mark in both the 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:', and the 'Run this program as administrator' boxes.
4. Run the ffasetup.exe program to install FeedForAll.
5. After installation is complete, right-click on the new FeedForAll shortcut that was created on your desktop (or in your start menu), and choose 'properties'
6. Choose the 'compatibility' tab.
7. Put a check mark in both the 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:', and the 'Run this program as administrator' boxes.
8. Now you can run FeedForAll normally on Windows8, from this point forward.

FeedForAll works on Windows 8. Follow the above installation instructions when downloading a free trial of FeedForAll software: http://www.feedforall.com/software.htm

With FeedForAll, you can create a feed with both feed urls and images urls. The feed's link and the image's link is the location or web page the user is taken to when clicking on the feed or image.

The image's link is the URL of your website with the feed content. In most cases, the link in the Image should be the same as the link for the feed.

The feeds' link is the URL of your website with the feeds content. A feed has items with links pointing to the web page of the each item's article. The feeds' link and each items' link may be the same.

FFA should let you create RSS feeds like your existing feeds.

I just wanted to update this thread, and say that I successfully downloaded your eval version to a Windows 8 PC, and was able to duplicate my existing RSS feed (link is contained several posts above) ... and I was able to do ALL of that in less than one hour! Here is the duplicate feed I created:

feed://www.midlifebachelor.com/rss/TestMLB.rss

which looks fantastic! Good work - FeedForAll is actually much easier to use than what I have previously been using (which was "RSS DreamFeeder", a now-obsolete add-in to Adobe Dreamweaver CS4).

I have a licensing question - but I'll create a new thread for that.

Thanks FeedForAll - your product is outstanding!
