?Resize Images in ~~~ItemDescription~~~

I want to pass the image to a php script in which I can resize image.
the rss source publishes large sized images and it makes page loads horrible.

I have reasonable knowledge of php and html.
please help me find the right part in right file to change.

Images aren't actually part of the RSS feed file. The RSS feed only contains a link to the image.

You would need to do some some pretty fancy stuff for what you want.

You would need to have rss2html download a copy of the image, resize it, store it on your webserver, and then change the link in the RSS feed to point to the new file on your webserver.

This would also cause copyright problems because you are taking someone else's image, modifying it and re-publishing it.

Not as simple as one would think at first glance.

Thanks for your sincere response. However I dont think so because as I use this link:

you would find out that your script gets the images and show them on destination. so there is no just image links but the image itself!

so there woluld be a way to just detect the image and pass it to a resize php script and then show it on the page. please consider testing the rss2html script using feed url above.

I unfortunately don't know of a way to detect the image in the Item's Description and pass it to a resize php script before showing the feed.

The free rss2html.php script automatically converts RSS feeds to HTML on the fly, and does not create any files. The rss2html's template is a standard HTML document with variables inserted where the RSS feeds' data will appear.

Hello, bijibuji.

I also want to create a feed that includes a different image for each item like this one: http://www.renewableenergyworld.com/rss/renews.rss

So, I took a look at their .xml file and found that those item images exist within the item description field. HTML can also be used to define the image size, so no need for a script. Just

Within FeedForAll, you can use the description HTML editor to give your description a little style.

Though the HTML editor in my Mac edition doesn't seem to be working right now.... Might have to contact support...

Anyway, hope this helps.

Why don't you have a chat with the supplier of the feed and ask em if they would be prepared to supply you with a personal copy of the feed but with smaller images, but to your spec ? That's what i do !
