Thank you again Martin, for taking the time to share your thoughts.
It looks like the installer needs a little attention. We will try to spend a little more time with it for the next release.
We will also see what we can do about highlighting the current skin in the list, or offering a choice to select the original default skin (or both).

Martin,
We just released FeedForAll Beta1. It addresses much of what you have posted about, so I wanted to give you the details.
Quote: |
Your installation utility should automatically pick up on the previous installaton folder. You default to PF\FeedForAll, which is not where I installed the first technology preview (PF\Utilities\Editors\FeedForAll). |
The good news is that the updated installer will detect the location of a previous install. The bad news is that it can't detect the previous Technology Preview installations. It will only work from Beta1 forward.

You only have the application icon. Add the remaining required entries (see JobFish, if you have it installed. At a minimum you should have an uninstall application entry, purchase product, and link to your website. |
The additional necessary icons have been added.

Control Panel: You should fill out the optional "Click here for support information" It looks more professional. |
Done.

Uninstall left residual files. You should ask users if they want to keep those files and explain what they are for (*.adu, *.ini). Uninstall should mean uninstall, not partial uninstall. |
All files are now removed

The default folder by convention and in Microsoft's style guide (required for certification, btw) is:
PF\\
That would make for your product:
"C:\Program Files\NotePage Inc\FeedForAll"
as the default folder. |
Default install folder has been updated as you suggested
Whe have also added an option for an icon to be installed to the desktop (or not), and an option to launch the program after the install finishes.
There are many more enhancements and new features in FeedForAll Beta 1. Please give it a try when you have the time.
