I haven't uploaded anything new for a few months and I can't for the life of me figure out how to do so. I have created a feed in FFA but when I hit "publish" I get an error message, Access denied: 503. ARGHGHGHG. What am I doing wrong? Many thanks for any help.

It sounds like you may need to update your FTP server or login information. Check with your FTP host to verify what the FTP server address is as well as your username and password for the FTP site.
Once you get that information, go in to the Publish settings in FFA and update them as necessary.
