Can someone please unlock the mystery of getting my video content onto Yahoo with Media RSS and FeedForAll? I'm completely frustrated and cannot figure out how to do this and further lost within the FeedForAll program.

What problem are you having? Maybe I can help some since the Mac version fully support Media RSS.

Hi Jim-

I think I understand that Yahoo requires additional indexing code that go beyond just the enclosures (i.e., link, length and /video) in order for the Yahoo crawler to accept the feed. Understood.

But for the life of me (which is actually now in its 5th day with this) I don't know what or how to add this information. Can I take an existing public XML and add the proper code to it so it's also useable for Yahoo or does it have to be separate feed? And what and where within the software do I do this? I saw a post from 2004 that FeedForAll doesn't support Media RSS for Win. Is that still the case? I just don't understand what I'm to add and where I do it within FeedForAll. And if it's not supported in the product, can you suggest another?

As you can probably tell, I'm exasperated by Media RSS?…..and Yahoo.

Thanks.

If you haven't seen the spec it is here, http://search.yahoo.com/mrss . It is a little overwelming, but only is required. FeedForAll Win does not fully support Media RSS, but if you download and use the beta version you can add the namespace and type in the XML. Once it is fully supported you will have entry boxes like the rest of the RSS fields and iTunes.

Jim-

In Feeds->General, I added
Media RSS - Then under Item->Extension there's now a Media RSS tab which I added

The program is returning invalid XML

I guess I did it wrong....ugh.

In Feeds->Extensions->General you add for the namespace "media" and for the DTD "http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/"

Your media content looks good.

Adding the Yahoo mrss to Feeds->General->Extensions worked.

But when adding the media content to Item->Extensions, I still get Invalid XML

Now just for kicks, I added the content to Feeds->General->Extensions and it worked. Is that correct? And if so, then how do you treat multiple items in a feed each with its own video content url? Just add another line?

I just pasted taht into the Mac version and it worked as expected.

Let me try poking the windows team with a stick. Can you post the actual feed so we can look, or just email it to support at feedorall

I pasted the text from the previous post:

and didn't have a problem. However, I am having a problem where I can only add it to the first item in the list. I am going to dig into it a little deeper.

Could you possibly send an email to . I would like to switch over to email for the moment, if you don't mind, because it may be easier to handle it that way. I will be sure to post our results back to this thread.
