Sorry about this question as I'm sure it's only the 1000th time it's been asked. IS THERE A BEGIN HERE FILE SOMEPLACE????

I don't know what to read just to get started. I just purchased Feed For All and I had been hand coding my own RSS feed (actually I was just filling in the info in a sample RSS feed and then going online to make sure it validated). So far it is working. . .here is my current RSS feed: http://nuestrafamiliaunida.com/rss.xml

The content of my site is growing to a point where I'm tired of hand coding and want to update my RSS feed automatically with minimum effort which is why I bought Feed For All.

Which of the 3 (Mesh, 2HTML, or Future) do I use to take my current feed and incorporate it into Feed For All so I can then do regular updates as new material gets added to the Podcast?

I was thinking it was Mesh, but not sure. I mostly think its terminology but I don't understand INSTRUCTION 2 for Mesh:

rssMesh v1.x Instructions

1) Unzip the contents of the rssMesh.zip file, and copy the extracted files to a folder on your webserver. The folder should be accessible from the Internet, like your regular webpages. In fact, the destination folder could be the same folder that you keep your webpages in.

2) In your browser, enter the full URL to the location of the rssMesh file, and use 'buildConfig' for a parameter.
Example: http://www.feedforall.com/rssMesh.php?buildConfig
This will bring up the configuration screen for rssMesh

3) On the configuration screen, choose the options you want, and enter the feeds you want to use for sources.

4) Hit the 'Generate configuration data' button at the bottom of the screen.

5) The screen will refresh and display the contents of a new configuration file in your browser. You now need to highlight that data, and copy it to an editor on your local computer (like notepad).

6) Save the new configuration file locally, being sure to use .php for the extension.

7) Upload the configuration file, and put it into the same folder as your rssMesh.php file

8) Test rssMesh by entering its URL into your browser, and including your new config file as a parameter.
Example: http://www.feedforall.com/rssMesh.php?CONFIGFILE=mynewconfig.php

To update an existing RSS feed, all you really need is FeedForAll. is choose 'Download' from the 'Feed' menu. This will load you existing RSS feed into FeedForAll, where you can edit it. Once, done, just FTP it back up to your server.

A great place for info on RSS feeds for beginners is here:

Okay, Geez what a dummy, I hadn't even downloaded the program (I thought I had but had only downloaded the php stuff). Now that I"m looking at the program this looks very doable and what I was hoping for.

One thing though. I just downloaded my existing copy of my feed to FeedForAll. Its obvious I don't know what I'm doing and need some more guidance. When I first built the code I copied a code that had a lot of specific stuff. See an example below. WELL my question is I noticed that the downloaded and then saved version that FFA created left the iTunes specific stuff out. that info seemed redundant to me anyway, but I'm wondering if the new feed generated by FFA will give me the same results (or better???) on the iTunes directory as with my original Feed with all those iTunes specific things? If you want to look at my RSS feed as it is functioning now go to: http://nuestrafamiliaunida.com/rss.xml

Mimi Lozano Interview Part 1, July 27, 2005;

My first interview and i'm so happy that my first choice for this interview, Mimi Lozano agreed to participate. Mimi Lozano is the editor of the Somos Primos Internet Newsletter: http://www.somosprimos.com. Unfortunately this interview took place via my computer telephone during a thunderstorm here in NC. The two sides of the conversation became slightly out of alignment and I worked hard to get them as close as they are. My apologies for the slight overlapping that is obvious from time to time. I'm sure that future efforts will improve

The current version of FeedForAll doesn't support iTunes very well. You should download and install our beta release. It has much better support for iTunes.

More info on the beta release here:
