Hi
Half an hour ago I did not know what a RSS feed was (I'm still unsure...). I had a currency widget made for me to be part of a webpage to come. My understanding now is that the most I could do with it is to have it available on my machine only.
Is it possible to have the feed update the webpage at the server so that everybidy accessing thr page will have the updated information?
Many thanks

To automatically display a feed on your webpage, install the rss2html.php script on your web server.
Download the free rss2html.php script: http://www.feedforall.com/software.htm

Hi, many thanks
Looking at it quickly it seems that the script will allow a RSS webpage to be diaplyed as a Page in the website. Is it possoble to access the data to be used in a webpage widget?
Thank you again.

Hi
I have a widget, the data of which is supposed to be based on a RSS feed but since it was installed that it does not update. I believe the reason is that the widget's code is missing some sort of connection with the update. I did not make the widget and the code is beyond me.
Right now what I would like to know is if it is POSSIBLE to have a widget (currency) getting the data from an RSS feed that somwhow does it in the server so that any visitor may be able to get recent information.
Sorry if I am being vague

You need a widget, and can't use a script?

I have the widget already, but it does not update using the feed from
$xml_feed_url='http://themoneyconverter.com/rss-feed/EUR/rss.xml';

While this isn't something that we produce or can directly configure or assist with, what you want to do IS possible. For example some programs check for updates by simply checking an RSS feed that holds the most recent version information for their product/widget.

Thank you for posting the feed. The feed appears to be encoded as "utf-8", but the server is reporting "US-ASCII". While the feed is valid, interoperability with some feed readers could be an issue.
Have you tried testing your widget with a different feed: http://www.feedforall.com/press-article-feed.xml
