The technology preview is lacking docs so this is an overview of RSS and FeedForAll Mac
1.) You can create new feeds or edit existing feeds (they can be opened
from local systems or downloaded).
2.) Within the software there are 3 tabs -
FEED TAB - The feed tab includes the title and description that pertain to the
overall title of the feed and the main link to the content directory.
Kind of like the title/description of the index page on a website.
ITEM TAB - The second tab is the items. Every feed can contain multiple items. Each item is like a headline, for a blog it would be the daily entries
title. The description would be the actual post or a portion of
the blog post.
If the feed was a directory of your press releases, the "items" would be each
of your press releases. The title of each release would be an item
title and descriptions would be summaries of the contents.
The link in the item would be to the actual press releases.
The pub date will default to the time the feed is created, you can
click the first box to change the format and pull up a calendar so you
can change the date.
IMAGE TAB - The image tab is the final one, this is not 100% functional yet. You do not need to use an image if you don't want to. Images are optional, the "url" is the url of the image and the "link" is the link to your main website. The software will
resize the image for you if its too large to the maximum spec.
All other fields are optional. We will be including
default settings in some of them, but many are like extraneous web meta
tags and fairly irrelevant, unless there are special circumstances.
We welcome criticism, and feedback! The aesthetics are still in progress so the look will improve! Please post comments and questions in the technology preview forum.
