Unlike traditional radio broadcasts, podcasts can be released at anytime. Most podcasters follow a general schedule 1 podcast a day or 1 podcast a week or even 1 podcast per month. That way their audience anticipates the material.
When a new podcast is released the podcast feed is updated and anyone subscribing to the feed will recieve notification in their aggregator or rss reader (many RSS readers will support podcasts).
